Salads are a great option for a filling lunch or dinner, or even as a snack in between meals when you’re hungry and want to fill up on veggies and lean protein.

Here are some Paleo-approved salads for you to try:

Spiralized Veggie and Avocado Salad

This first salad is going to use vegetables that have been turned into ‘pasta’ by using a spiralizer. These handy tools will take veggies like carrots and zucchini and turn them into cold veggie noodles that are perfect for beefing up your favorite salad.

For this salad, try using different veggies to be spiralized, then add some cherry tomatoes, avocado, olive oil, and a little citrus juice like lemon or lime. Just mix it all together and you have a fresh salad with ingredients you can find in the spring.

Mediterranean Chicken Salad

Chicken is a wonderful addition to any salad and it is Paleo-approved when you choose free range chicken with no hormones. You can make yourself a chicken salad by starting with your grilled or baked chicken and cutting it into strips.

For a Mediterranean chicken salad, the more seasoned the chicken, the better it will be. Some good seasonings for this type of salad are lemon juice, basil, garlic, oregano, salt, pepper, and parsley. You will then add the chicken to your salad of mixed greens, tomatoes, onion, Kalamata olives, and avocado.

Strawberry Avocado Spinach Salad

In the spring, using strawberries and spinach is a great option. These have a wonderful fresh taste, are good even on a hot day, plus they are in season during the spring. Combine them with avocado and some other ingredients and you have yourself a healthy Paleo salad.

The main greens of the salad is the spinach, but you can add mixed greens if you prefer. You will then add some strawberry slices, avocado, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, salt, and pepper. You can also add some cooked chicken if you want to add more protein to the salad. Feta cheese and slivered almonds also taste wonderful on this salad.

Cucumber Salad

This is a different type of salad you can try out. It has a really fresh flavor and is a cold salad, making it perfect for those sunny spring days. You will be slicing up cucumbers, then combining them with some onion, dill, salt, pepper, garlic, and a little raw honey for the creaminess. If you are on the Paleo diet, but allow dairy in limited quantities, you can do this with sour cream.
